Side Panels & Drapery

Thoughtfully Designed Drapery, Panels, and Finishing Touches
Custom drapery brings softness, scale, and intention to any space. Fabric accents soften a room and layer over other window treatments when you need maximum light control and privacy.
If you’re looking to add softness, control light, insulate windows, or complete your interior design, we’re here to help. At Accent Window Fashions, we have been in business since 1999. For years, our clients have trusted us to create custom drapery solutions for their homes throughout Nebraska and Iowa
Our approach is simple: listen first, guide thoughtfully, and design drapery that complements your home, your style, and how you live in your space. We're a small, locally and veteran-owned business with a showroom in the heart of Elkhorn and a team of experts who understand how drapery transforms a space.
Should I Choose Stationary Side Panels or Traverse Drapes?
The style of drapery you choose affects fullness, formality, and how the fabric hangs and operates.
- Stationary Drapery Panels Near Omaha, NE: Stationary drapery panels are mounted on either side of your window, but do not move in order to frame this space. Stationary panels layer well with other window treatments like blinds or shades underneath for light control.
- Traversing Drapery Near Omaha, NE: Functional traversing drapery opens and closes using rods, rings, specialty hardware, or motorized tracks. These panels are ideal for everyday light control and privacy, as well as large windows, sliding glass doors, and wide openings—and are excellent when paired with other window treatments.

Custom Drapery Styles
Our design team is here to help you select styles that suit both your windows and your overall interior design to find the right balance of structure, softness, and performance for your home.
Pleated Drapery
Pleated drapery features fabric that is permanently folded and secured at the top heading, creating structured folds that hang in elegant vertical lines. These styles are typically hung from a concealed traverse rod or a decorative pole with specialized rings, offering a tailored and polished appearance.
- Two-Finger Pinch Pleat: Fabric is pinched into two distinct “fingers” at the heading, creating a clean and tailored look.
- Three-Finger Pinch Pleat: A fuller version of the pinch pleat, with three gathered “fingers” that add depth and richness.
- Inverted Pleat: The pleat folds inward, creating a smooth, flat front with fullness concealed behind the panel.
- Monarch Pleat (French Pleat): A variation of the pinch pleat where the gathered folds are stitched at the base, forming a more cylindrical shape.
- Goblet Pleat: A decorative pleat gathered into a rounded, goblet-like shape at the top, often lightly padded to maintain its form.
- Olivia Pleat: A softer, contemporary pleat with a gentle inverted fold that creates a relaxed silhouette.

Non-Pleated Drapery
Non-pleated drapery styles rely on construction methods other than pleats, resulting in a more relaxed, streamlined, or modern aesthetic. These styles are often chosen for their simplicity, ease of operation, or distinctive visual rhythm.
- Rod Pocket Drapery: A fabric casing is sewn along the top of the panel, allowing the curtain rod to slide directly through.
- Grommet Top Drapery: Panels feature reinforced with grommets along circular openings at the top edge through which the rod is threaded.
- Ripplefold Drapery: A track-mounted system where fabric is evenly spaced, forming continuous, uniform waves for the look of pleats with a lower profile.

Decorative Options & Finishing Touches
At Accent Window Fashions, we know that the design details matter. Decorative options and finishing elements are an important part of how drapery looks and functions.
- Drapery Fabric: With thousands of fabrics available, choosing the right one can feel intimidating—that’s where our design expertise comes in. During your consultation, we learn about your goals, color palette, style preferences, and budget. From there, we curate fabric options, decorative trims, and banding that make sense for your project. We proudly work with premium fabric partners, offering a wide range of textures, patterns, and weights.
- Additional Liners: Liners play a key role in how drapery performs. Selections are guided by room use, sun exposure, and privacy preferences. We may recommend light-filtering liners to soften natural light or room-darkening liners for bedrooms or media rooms.
- Curtain & Drapery Hardware: We offer drapery rods, tiebacks, finials, and end caps, along with hardware finishes in metal, wood, and wrought iron. We work with premium hardware brands including Kirsch, Paris Texas Hardware, Magnolia Hardware, and Forest Drapery Hardware to ensure durability and design consistency.
- Coordinating Top Treatments & Upholstery Fabrics: To create a cohesive, finished look, we also design and coordinate valances and cornices for a decorative top finish, as well as coordinating soft shading or pillows that tie your drapery fabrics into the rest of the room.
- Control Options: Our team helps determine whether hand-drawn options with wands and batons or motorized drapery systems would be best for your windows based on how you plan to use the space.
